Tovey, Brian
Brian Tovey was born in Birmingham in 1943. His understanding of the countryside was encouraged in his early career whilst painting for the Avon Gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon and later in Henley-in-Arden where Brian now has a gallery of his own. This painting was commissioned during that period and Brian visited the Horse Fair at Stow-on-the Wold to sketch this annual countryside activity, eventually producing many sketches from which he worked for three months to produce this magnificent inspirational painting.
